Milan & Naomi’s Birthday Princess Tea Party

For almost 6 months prior to her birthday, Milan had several requests (especially after she didn’t get it for Christmas): 1. a red heart 2. a real unicorn and 3. a horse with no teeth. A horse with no teeth (not to mention a real unicorn)… that was going to be a challenge! Luckily, thanks to Wellie Wishers, Sofia the First and receiving a couple of tea sets for Christmas, she changed her birthday requests to these three:

1. To have a Tea Party
2. For her guests to be dressed as princesses
3. To have her special friends there to celebrate with

Naomi, being only 2 years old, had no requests. We knew she would want a ton of fruit and sweets but its honestly like playing roulette with her… she’d either love playing dress up and seeing friends or throw a complete fit and not want anything to do with it. 2 year olds. We hoped she would enjoy it and well, hoped, in the first place, that this Tea Party would even happen in time.

Putting together a Princess Tea Party, right after a two week Spring Break filled with family visiting and a road trip to SoCal along the PCH, was still a challenge but I was just so happy that I didn’t have to go look for a horse with no teeth, I was up for it. Thank goodness for Trader Joes, Amazon Prime and Target for making it possible!

Whenever family is around, all of our attention and energy is dedicated to them. As soon as they left, 4 days before the party, my focus quickly shifted. Non-stop Pinterest scrolling, thrift store finding, Target shopping, and Amazon ordering.

The day + night before the party was absolutely bonkers…making me question whyyyy I didn’t have this party while our family was in town because no doubt they would have been great help. But yay to being able to squeeze in 30 minutes of shut-eye. And with a mix of DIY and mostly store bought goodies, the girls got their Princess Tea Party.
